The seaside
village of Aliki is located on the southern
cost of Paros about 12km from the main port
of Parikia. The village name derives from
the salt pans that were a feature of this
area in ancient times.
It is a very quiet and tranquil area of Paros,
more isolated than most other seaside resorts
on on island. Alyki village has several hotels,
apartments and rooms for rent, as well as
a clutch of seafood tavernas and cafes along
the sea front.
Aliki is a small
village with about 500 permanent residents.
It is located in a small sheltered cove, well
protected from the northerly meltemi winds
and with a small port for fishing boats and
yachts.
There is a long sandy beach around the headland
and several small coves dotted along this
part of the coast. Nearby beaches can be found
at Agios Nikolaos, Platia Ammos, Makrya Myti
Kladia, Voutakos and Farangas. Some of the
beaches have summer cantinas and music bars.
A road out of
Aliki is signposted Farangas and leads to
a quiet, sandy beach and beach bar. There
is plenty of natural shade beneath the nearby
trees or you can hire a sun bed and umbrella.
